BEST INTERIOR INTERACTIVE CLIENT APPROVAL PROCESS > iLLume: Cedar Springs > Dallas,TX (2007)

The interior motif and design concept of this project was important aspect, considering the diverse cultural sophistication of the target demographic in the Oaklawn-Cedar Springs area in Dallas. A more evolved development of the midcentury modern interior concept was used, concentrating on the long rectangle, but updating it with more popular and sophisticated materials and delivering various LED lighting concepts not typical of apartment interiors. The concentration of numerous cutting edge lighting concepts sparked the project's name, iLLume: Cedar Springs.

I assisted Gary Pitts (Architect of Record) in interior material selections and developing material and color palattes including cabinets, countertops, plumbing fixtures and lighting. We coordinated interactive rendering sessions with the owners using cold beer and simple photoshop tools, in which colors and materials were exchanged in different combinations on black and white perspective backgrounds with immediate assistance and approvals from the client, letting them have substantial interaction and immediate approval in the direction of the finished interior project. The results from the meetings were translated by staff member, Jason Garza, into more complex rendered 3D models using ADT tools from AutoCad Architecture. Finish schedules, fixture and lighting schedules and applied to interior finish sheets and reflected ceiling plans in the construction drawings.
